"Tadalafil" (Latin: Tadalafil) is a medication for the treatment of erectile dysfunction, which is the inability to achieve and maintain an erection necessary for sexual intercourse.

The drug is available in the form of film-coated tablets and is sold only with a doctor's prescription.

Uses

"Tadalafil" is used for:

• erectile dysfunction (sexual stimulation is required);
• lower urinary tract symptoms in patients with benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) at a dose of 5 mg;
• erectile dysfunction in patients with BPH and lower urinary tract symptoms (5 mg dosage).

The drug is not intended for women.

Contraindications

Tadalafil should not be taken if:

• there is hypersensitivity to the drug's components;
• taking drugs with organic nitrates;
• under the age of 18;
• heart diseases in which sexual activity is contraindicated (e.g., recent myocardial infarction, unstable angina);
• loss of vision in one eye due to non-arterial anterior ischemic optic neuropathy;
• chronic renal failure (creatinine clearance less than 30 ml/min);
• rare hereditary intolerance to galactose, lactase deficiency, or glucose-galactose malabsorption syndrome.

How to take

The dosage is prescribed by a doctor. For example, for erectile dysfunction, the following recommendations may be given:

• For frequent sex (twice a week or more often) - 5 mg every day at the same time. If necessary, the dose can be reduced to 2.5 mg.
• For infrequent sex (less than twice a week) - 20 mg 30 minutes before sexual intercourse, regardless of food.

It is important to remember that Tadalafil 20 mg is not intended for daily use.

Possible side effects

Some side effects of Tadalafil may include:

• headache, indigestion;
• back pain, muscle pain;
• dizziness, nasal congestion, facial flushing;
