«Sedoxil» is a drug from the group of benzodiazepines with the active substance meksalolam. It is available in the form of white round biconvex tablets.

Indications for use

«Sedoxil» is used for the treatment of anxiety conditions associated or not associated with psychoneurotic disorders. Benzodiazepines are used only in severe conditions that can lead to disability or a significant deterioration in well-being.

Contraindications

Contraindications to taking Sedoxil:

• hypersensitivity (allergy) to mexazolam or other components of the drug;
• myasthenia gravis;
• severe respiratory failure;
• sleep apnea syndrome;
• severe liver failure.

Before taking the drug, be sure to consult your doctor or pharmacist.

Method of use and dosage

The dosage of Sedoxil is selected individually, depending on the age and severity of the symptoms:

• For adults: 1-3 mg per day, preferably divided into 3 doses.
• For the elderly: no more than 1.5 mg per day.

The treatment course should be as short as possible (maximum 8-12 weeks). The doctor will advise you on how to gradually reduce the dose.

Important:

• If you have taken a dose more than one hour after the scheduled time, do not take it.
• If you have taken a lower dose than the doctor recommended, do not increase it.
• If you are taking other medications (such as antidepressants or antipsychotics), be sure to tell your doctor, as Sedoxil may interact with them.

Side effects

Possible side effects of Sedoxil:

• nausea if you miss a dose;
• reduced effectiveness of conventional doses and the need to increase the dose (tolerance).
