Product Details

Laennec is an injection solution containing human placenta hydrolysate. It is used as an immunomodulator and hepatoprotector for the treatment of liver diseases, as well as in the complex therapy of herpetic infections and atopic dermatitis.

Form of release

The drug is available in dark glass hydrolytic class 2 ampoules. Each ampoule contains 2 ml of a solution with 112 mg of placenta hydrolysate, water for injection, and a pH corrector (sodium hydroxide or hydrochloric acid). The package may contain 10 or 50 ampoules in a cardboard box with dividers.

Pharmacological effect

Laennec stimulates humoral immunity, improves the functioning of phagocytes and natural killers, and increases the bactericidal activity of leukocytes. It also promotes the regeneration of liver cells, reduces the accumulation of lipids and cholesterol, activates metabolism, and slows down the development of connective tissue in the liver.

Indications for use

  • In complex therapy: chronic recurrent herpes, moderate to severe atopic dermatitis (including complicated forms).
  • As monotherapy: chronic liver diseases such as alcoholic, metabolic, and mixed steatohepatitis.

Contraindications

  • Allergy to the drug.
  • Children.
  • Pregnancy and lactation.

With caution: in patients with polyvalent drug allergies and the elderly.

Method of administration and dosage

For chronic recurrent herpes and atopic dermatitis:

  • Intravenous drip: 10 ml (5 ampoules) is dissolved in 250-500 ml of 5% dextrose solution or saline solution. The infusion lasts 1.5-2 hours through the ulnar vein. The procedures are performed 3 times a week with a two-day break. The course consists of 10 injections.

For chronic liver diseases (steatohepatitis):

  • Intramuscularly: 2 ml daily. If necessary, the dose can be increased to 6 ml (2-3 ampoules).
  • Intravenously drip: 10 ml (5 ampoules) are dissolved in 250-500 ml of 5% dextrose solution or saline solution and administered through the cubital vein over a period of 1.5-2 hours. The procedure is performed daily. The course lasts 2-3 weeks.

Side effects

Side effects are observed in 3.7% of patients. Allergic reactions, including anaphylactic shock, are possible. Other side effects include pain at the injection site (2.56%), skin redness and itching (0.37%), numbness (0.37%), and gynecomastia (no association with the drug has been proven).

Storage conditions

Store the drug in a dark place at a temperature of +18 to +25 °C. Shelf life is 3 years.
